1. Woke up at 9 not for school, but for some jamming with the guys! the guys are currently into canto rock ballads. specifically ballads by Beyond. hahah. but i have to say, they ARE rather catchy, though i can't understand what the words mean, and can only hum/whistle along to the tune.
2. Met denise, and bena and esther of the floorballies right after for some much needed retail therapy.
3. i was the ultimate fast food patron today. ate macs for brekkie, long johns fr lunchie and carl's jnr for dinner. man. i'm gonna get a heart attack, i think. (ok this point doesnt actually support the premise why the holidays started but i thought it was a very rare day that i ate fast food for all 3 meals. ha!)
here we are at beat merchants:
ribena and denise with the blue i-don't-know-what-that-is balloon:
i'm wearing; beige dottie topshop ascot blouse, grey zara leggings, black leather celine bag (my mom's), silver hairband (which i bought tdy and wore on the spot. hahha).
aights. gotta pack for floorball camp. snarl. i hate packing for camps. such. a. drag. and just thinking about the camp makes me tired. (please don't kick me off the team if you read this capitan denise HAHA).

(esp secret ones. hur hur hur) there's smthg serene and romantic and peaceful abt gardens and flowers and huge shady tress. and i'm also half wishing a faery is gonna pop out from the shrooms to tell me to cast off my glamour cos i'm the fae's long lost queen. HA! here are some photos i took in my garden:

So here's what i was wearing today: white DKNY Jeans top, Levis cut offs, Topshop fishnets, and patent black pedderred oxford wedges (ok i actually wore my converse chucks, they're more apt for school, AND i had to walk to the mrt. ha.) Anw, you wouldn't beleive the number of times denise had to take these photos. it was a particularly "i'm the most fug organism in the universe" day. thankyouverymuch.

If anyone can master deconstructed and shredded, it's Rodarte.
Those laser cut leggings are calling out to me. Rodarte really makes one want to cut holes in everything. Mmmm.

Anyway, i got a camera from my dad recently (so, actually my blog should be bursting with life. but i'm afraid there were complications sir, complications). It's one of his hand-me-downs from eons ago. it's a canon powershot S1 IS, with 3.2 megapixels. hahahah. ancient. but it does take decent pictures and i appreciate Daddy giving Lucienne to me. Yes i named my camera Lucienne. anymore questions? good.
so here are some outfit photos from the past month of my life, though i'm sure you would have seen them on denise's blog. i tried out some DIY stuff recently and i think they turned out pretty fine =) i am intending to do more DIY after the exams, which, horror of horrors, is next week.
ok 1st up is this cosmic print high waist flare skirt. This one definitely turned out way better than expected. i saw this print at spotlight, and immedietely, i had the feeling i wanted to do something with it, so i bought it, ideas flowing outta my ears. but as usual the guys said it was the ugliest thing on earth, so this piece of cloth was left unused in my room for quite a while. but i kinda figured, why waste the money? so i made it into the safest thing possible ( or rather my grandma made it into the safest thing possible): a high waist flared mini skirt.
That print is INSANE, no? love it. hah. i have to say i'm really grateful to have not 1, but 2 grandmas who can sew =)
ok, so here's the next one. i have this really old pair of levis type 1s tt i purchased in during my days in crescent. and i don't wear them anymore. so i decided to cut them up. it was a stab in the dark this one. since i didnt know the 'right' way of creating cut-offs. i simply put on those jeans, got denise to trace around my leg with a pink highlighter at the desired length, then i snipped just abv that line. haha. sloppiness. but they turned out beautiful. and i'll wear this more than i'll ever wear those outdated jeans.
I like it. it goes with my AA deep V tee. but it would look even better paired with these. lace tights included.
i need these chloe beauties. like NEED not want. hahah. photo taken of jak&jil btw. love that site. it's teeming with awesome photos.
alright. it's time i got cracking on CB/MR/RMI. Advertising’s done with. i'm proud to say our campaign for the Singapore flyer was graded as the BEST in class. not only best in our category (CNY, the other category was v-day), but best IN CLASS. happiness =D. and we were, very honestly, very last min. we only got our shizz together minutes before the actual presentation. we were still finalising stuff in the car on the way to school for gods sake. and had to buy props from mustafa cos it's like the only place that's 24-hrs. hahah. what's new eh.
In summary, Our campaign was, I quote prof, “award-winning” and that he “liked it”. Have to say i was really fortunate to have kai and robs in my grp, and also evelyn at Ogilvy (our adopted agency) to help guide us along the way. the thrill we felt when we were announced as the winner was BEYOND DESCRIPTION (this was the name of our campaign!). we'll see if flyer chooses to adopt our idea or not. but we got a private capsule flight with champagne and strawberries and all as our prize. I wish my other mods were as.. fun.
This post is frikin long. Meh. I’m thinking of so many things other than studying. Like watching grey’s anatomy later, reading the 2 unread books from the twilight series in denise’s room, cutting ladder holes ala topshop in a pair of black mango skinnies that I have, mastering ‘while my guitar gently weeps’ on my acoustic, and drum lessons with jeremiah after exams (doesn’t hurt to learn smthg new and our band needs a drummer anyway. So I’ll take a break from being guitarist and try my luck at drumming). Ok FOCUS debra, FOCUS. STUDY. NOW.

haha. ok it's back to studying for me. have a CB skit tmrw, and MR midterm on wed, for which i am officially, surely, definitely, screwed/fucked. =D simply delightful.

OK, some happenings this past week:
I bought this skirt at topshop last monday! it was love at first sight when i saw it. ain't it purty? =) (though i was having 2nd thoughts regarding price, wearability etc etc) but heck. it was too amazing to resist. and very very miu-miu-esque, with a touch of disco. here's looking at it:
Anyways, last thurs was Bondue appreciation nite! was held at timbre. apparently i was invited cos i represent bondue for their annual/bi-annual dragon boat competiions (i'm the drummer yo). The theme was mismatched melissa, and i wore my new skirt! with my floorball jersey, mismatched tights inspired by AA, and my sports shoes. did i mention i won best dressed (100 dollars worth of river island vouchers mind you- alr spent it on a scarf and some tights). wouldnt have won without the help of my friends though. THANKS YOU to ALL OF YOU. so sweet. hha alright,so here're some of the peektures (denise lent me her cam. thanks sista). anayway i'm too lazy to upload them on facebook. will do so when i'm free(er).
Bondue app nite aside, here's what i wore to school on friday anyway. do i look like a receptionist? haha. and the guys do feel that this blouse is the most grand-ma-rish thing ever. i lovesit though. it's got this silky sheen, embroidered collar and striped and floral pastel patterns. those incredible shades are DENISE'S btw.
okalies dokalies, i'm off to watch Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Daniel Radcliffe is sex. haha. i am cho chang. nuff said.

Now for some runway photos: Here's diesel's s/s '09 ready to wear collection. nice, pretty and casual. Somehow, diesel always manages to make denim look.. glam. perfect for school and play. you don't see much wearable (subjective to the individual of course. Me, i'd wear anything! Ha-ha. I kid) stuff off the runway!

ngggh! gotta get one. Does anyone know whr i can get one my size? marc jacobs did a few but those are obviously over my budget. think i'll try a costume store. i'm in love with that guy from lookbook btw. he's got the most insane collection of jackets ever. Jaysis, all guys should look that fetching.

First up: chloe.
i really like chole's signature feminie sexy style, girly yet mature. simply love the attention to detail as well, with the shiny high waisted 80's-esque gathered pants (though when worn wrongly, one might tend to look like aladdin and would subsequently be forced to adopt a pet monkey.), the scalloped details on the blazers, and high wasited goodness. On the other hand, here're a few looks from Alexander McQueen's collection.
Lotsa pieces awash with explosions of colour. i get a very contemporary, mid-summer's night feel. haha. the pattern reminds me of the big bang, creation of the universe. or maybe, a dream vortex? the void between reality and the land of the dreaming. love those really tight pants/leggins. can see those as statement pieces in my closet (which, as of now is very non-existent. need some retail therapy.)
So, which do i prefer? i dont know. maybe i'll be enlightened after zouk tonight. till then.

The colours are very beautiful; subdued, but still eye grabbing. The socks over tights/leggings thing looks very tempting to try, but definitely not in Singapore though ( hot & humid temperature = high chance I’d spontaneously combust). However, I’m very inclined toward those loose sleeves/ Bat-wing tops. Reminds of the slouchy t-shirt over tights look going on (Denise hates this haha), but instead of just throwing on a normal long cotton tee, I’d throw on one that drapes nicely, and has some interesting design of sorts – preferably involving sequins; it’ll look much more sophisticated.
Anyway, since I was looking through their website, here’s their summer 09 collection: Babylon.
Much brighter colours this time around, and a very party party look. btw, anyone else hears the Jamaican print leggings (the white & colourful ones) calling out to you? *pause* ok I’ll shaddup now ‘nuff said.
On a non-fashion note, haven't decided if I want to go prawning with the friends later. It’s expensive (been blowing a lot of cash lately), and really far away (Bishan). And denise isnt going. (not that Denise must accompany me for everything, but you know..? Yes you do.) On the other hand, I’ve nv tried prawning b4, & kong-ordinator put a lot of effort into organizing this outing, it’s a public holiday (Hari Raya), and I have no classes tmrw. Yarp. We’ll see. Ta-ta for now kidz.

anyway, past week end was F1 weekened. here are some photos of Massa's pit stop blunder, Alonso's win and a horrible F1 crash.
haha lame i know (though there was a real crash by kimi.r actually.) marf! i'm so very bored. took some pictures with my webcam. nthg compared to photobooth on mac if you're wondering. i'm using nec. so hot when in use, you can fry an egg on it.

Chanced upon this photo in August, but I wanted to share it with you guys. Why?
1. Luke Worrell is looking smashing as usual. (Yes, he’s now sporting a darker and shorter hairstyle compared with his platinum blonde one as seen in the lovelicious marc by marc jacobs spring 08 ads.) He’s totally rocking that tight skinny jeans with tux jacket look. (mind you, not many guys can do that w/o looking like a ______.)
2. I totally love what K.O.’s wearing even though I hate her guts. Her dress is by miu miu (amazing print, saw a purse in that exact print at the miu miu boutique abt a month back), her shoes are red and shiny (have I mentioned I love shiny?), and that wonderful leather jacket just completes her outfit. I would totally wear what she’s wearing if I could afford it… Can someone please buy me a leather jacket just like that?
I hate to admit it, but they look so great together. Bah humbug.

After dinner, while the guys "distracted" yetzelly, lauren denise and I sneaked off to breadtalk to buy yez' bday cake. (it was lemon cheescake, on discount too!). we then made our way to screme where there was free flow beer, a live music set feat. Alvin and Romey, great DJing, and lotsa fun with everyone (including some urban sport action).
Anyhoo, here's what i wore on thurs. rather LSD-effect-ish according to sean the DJ.
1. Neon Floral Mini Dress, vtg, ebay
2. Black Woven Belt, vtg, thrifted
3. Shiny Stirrup Tights (Asphalt), American Apparel
4. Black Gem Sandals, Beverly Feldman
5. Tortoise Shell Glasses, Kame ManNen
Anyway, for a thorough documentary of the party, and a look the amazing double breasted coat we bought for yez, do vist denise's blog. For more entertaining & hilarious pictures, you can click on the link below, which will bring you to the facebook album YZ24 pt1 (there's a pt 2 too if you're interested).
p.s. - To you: Don't be sorry! i promise more fun times, more good times and lots of laughs =) cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye. (ouchie) haha.

Here's what i wore to school on wed. This was thrifted about 2 week back =D It's rather short though, really really mini length. i likin it. haha. luckily my skivvies weren't exposed to anyone.
Alas, it was met with many a “sailormoon” and “school uniform” comment. This dress might very well be the most childish piece of clothing I have.. *ponders*. However as we sail thru life, we cannot avoid rough waters. We have to be brave and confident. We have to sail on because calm waters won't make a skillful dresser. HAHA. Did that make sense to anyone? Haha. OKaayye. Anyway, here’s the nautical look as seen on marc jocobs spring and Chanel resort 08 collections. (I’m slow. Yes I know. Will try finding stuff from the recent London and NY fashion weeks to blog abt instead.)
This sailorific look is quite old. But if gladiators and leggings are still around, I don’t see why this would be deemed outdated. So landlubbers might want to opt for nautical strips, double breasted shorts, or just a simple white and navy blue ensemble once in a blue moon. Those dresses from ebay put the S in sailor. A really fun take on the sailor look. I love that picture with the red suitcase btw.
So mee hearties, while I’m in the lib mugging for my midterms next week, this is a look to consider. At least it will make a refreshing sea change from the floral, gipsy, boho, ethnic looks that have dominated summer over and over. ( I quite like Zara’s Fall 08 collection which I in stores now though. Very Gucci fall 08, but very ex too. Very nice fringed tops/ studded vests/ Mongolian coins etc. Ok I digress. Wandering mind. But I might do a post on that look soon.)
On another note, we’re celebrating Yez’ bday at screme later cos there’s some bondue event called blackout. But before that.. I’m actually contemplating visiting topshop orchard with denise and Lauren later. I’m so easily distracted. I have a wandering mind. (now where have I said that before..) No wonder I do so well for exams =D

Following miu miu’s stunning S/S 08 collection, carnivalesque puff skirts and harlequin patterns galore, Topshop has just recently released their fall 08 collection “Wonderland”.
Topshop’s wonderland theme is really similar, with reds, dark blues and blacks, shine, and very full and short skirts. Topshop’s pieces are more wearable, if I do say so. God knows how difficult it is to wear some of those long sleeved (but nice) creations. But I have to say I love those very cute miu miu collars. Am actually thinking of getting a bow tie to wear with some of my dresses.
Anyhoodle, I absolutely love Topshop’s navy blue sequin dress in the top right corner, but my prom days are over. *sobz sobz sobz* and frankly I think people might mistake me for a clown/ getai singer or something. Or a bottle of navy blue glitter. Or a kid. ( I naturally look kiddy). Or just someone insanely shiny. OOo I love shiny. Can’t. Look. Away. Will get Denise to do her rendition of this pretty look for her blog soon. (denise is prawning w/o me right now. this very moment. yeas. this very moment.)
So people who desired but could not afford miu miu’s pieces, rejoice! Even though it’s a season (or more) late, better late than never! Embrace the bouncy castle pouf skirt with open arms! Ringmaster deb leaves the stage, thankew thankew *bows* and proceeds to continue whith her chi-squared adventures.
